History and Literature Enrichment
We are thrilled to share the upcoming curriculum for 2026/2027 school year!
This year’s history and geography program features a captivating journey through world history beginning with the revolutions that sparked democracies around the world, and ending with the United States Civil War Era. Our engaging approach is hands on. It incorporates art and play-based activities to enrich our understanding of history and geography that makes these subjects vivid and relevant.
In our literature and filmmaking program, we will foster curiosity and wonder through a semester long book club where we will focus on poetry, short stories, books and authors from that era (1770s-1860s) to further enhance our learning. Each semester we will create a capstone project to share with parents.
Our leadership/Entrepreneurship program is service based. We will learn the ethics and philosophy of leadership, volunteerism, and community building. Students will create service projects that will directly impact their local community each semester.
We serve grades K-8th and meet on Wednesdays in Monument from 8:30-3:30.
We love to share our passion for history, literature, leadership and filmmaking...
Daily Schedule:
Serving grades K - 8th, our Tuesday program covers Art, Nature, Creative Writing, and Choir. We split the group into 3 groups: Grades K-1st, 2nd - 4th, and 5th - 8th.
Circle Time: Time to connect with each other through singing, improv games, and movement. With occasional activities such as show and tell, breathing, meditation, and team building.
Main Lesson Block – Literature and Filmmaking:
This portion of the day we will work on on our larger capstone projects for the semester. We will read a book (book club style) with a themed party at the end of each semester. We will also study authors, poets, and playwrights from the 1770-1860s.
Main Lesson Block – Art : For the 2026/2027 school year this block will cover watercoloring, colored pencils, acrylics and 3-D art.
Lunch and Outdoor Recess: We know it’s important for kids to have free time together outdoors. We provide space and time for uninterrupted free play together.
Main Lesson Block – History:
This block covers our history lesson and activity. It includes reading aloud and activities based on what we are learning. Each week, we review what we’ve learned in previous weeks. We incorporate games, acting, arts, crafts or other kinesthetic methods of learning to make it come alive for our students.
Main Lesson Block – Leadership/Entrepreneurism:
We will study the philosophy behind ethical leadership and entrepreneurism. Students will create their own business and have opportunities to interact directly with members of the community with volunteerism, leadership, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Closing Circle and Clean Up Our last portion of the day ends with Clean Up and then a final Circle Time.
